The result was enough to extend their lead from Monterrey at the top to four points.

Third-placed Santos Laguna were also held in a 1-1 draw at San Luis.

The visitors look the lead through Christian Benitez after 54 minutes but Diego de la Torre levelled four minutes later.

That allowed Club America to move level on points with Santos as they claimed a 1-0 win at Atlante thanks to Vicente Vuoso's 65th-minute goal.

Dario Cvitanich scored twice, sandwiching Adrian Romero's reply, as Pachuca beat Queretaro 2-1, while Francisco Dorame scored the only goal in Morelia's 1-0 win at Tigres Monterrey.

Jaguares were 2-1 winners against Atlas thanks to goals from Oscar Razo and Jackson Martinez. Fabricio Fuentes briefly levelled for Atlas.
