FC Twente consolidated their lead at the top of the Eredivisie with a 2-1 win at home to Excelsior tonight.
Despite trailing to a third-minute goal from Leendert van Steensel, the home side equalised through Nacer Chadli before Marc Janko scored the decisive goal after 75 minutes.
Twente are now four points clear of a cluster of teams locked on 27 points - PSV Eindhoven, Ajax and FC Groningen, who beat NAC Breda 2-1.
Andreas Granqvist scored all three goals at Euroborg, putting through his own net after two minutes before slotting home two penalties at the other end to rescue things for Groningen.
A stoppage-time own goal from Birger Maertens gifted Heerenveen a 3-2 victory over Heracles Almelo in an eventful match. Michel Breuer fired Heerenveen in front and Calvin Jong-a-Pin added a second from the penalty spot before the interval.
Heracles fought their way back into the contest thanks to Willy Overtoom's penalty and Everton's strike within a six-minute spell, but an unfortunate Maertens found the net in the third minute of injury time to give Heerenveen the points.
A hat-trick from Bjorn Vleminckx helped NEC Nijmegen claim a 4-1 win at De Graafschap. Nathaniel Will was also on target for NEC with Muslu Nalbantoglu scoring the home side's consolation.
