BATE Borisov sealed their place in the knockout stages of a European competition for the first time with a 3-1 home win over FC Sheriff. Two goals in six second-half minutes from Alexander Pavlov and Renan Bressan sealed the win for the Belarus champions after BATE had seen Vitaly Rodionov's 15th-minute strike cancelled out by Alexander Erokhin.
Artem Milevskiy hit both goals as Dynamo Kiev gave their hopes of reaching the final 32 a huge lift thanks to a convincing 2-0 victory over AZ Alkmaar. The win puts the Ukrainian side in second place of Group E, four points clear of the chasing pack.
Group F
CSKA Moscow booked their place into the knockout stage of the competition with a 3-1 win over Palermo. Massimo Maccarone gave the Serie A side the lead but the 31st-minute dismissal of Antonio Nocerino undermined Palermo's resilience. The Russian side capitalised with Keisuke Honda scoring in the 47th minute followed by a Tomas Necid brace (50th and 54th minutes) to clutch the win and qualification.
Sparta Prague ran out 3-1 winners over Lausanne despite the hosts taking an early lead through Guillaume Katz. The Czech side fought back, Bony Wilfred claimed his first goal of the evening just before half-time. Leonard Kweuke grabbed the second after 75 minutes and Wilfred wrapped up his brace at the 90-minute mark.
Group G
Zenit St Petersburg clung onto their 100 per cent record in Group G with a narrow 3-2 victory at Hajduk Split which ensured their place in the last 32. The Russians went 3-0 up through
AEK Athens and Anderlecht shared a 1-1 draw in the other Group G encounter.
Group H
Stuttgart booked their place in the next round by extending their 100 per cent record in Group H to four games with a 3-0 victory over Getafe.
Group I
PSV Eindhoven moved to the brink of qualifying for the last 32 following a comfortable 3-0 win over point-less Debrecen, Ibrahim Affelay, Jonathan Reis and Stijn Wuytens with the goals. The other match in the group ended goalless between Sampdoria and Metalist Kharkiv.
Group J
Sevilla went top of Group J with a 4-0 win over Karpaty Lviv. Two goals from Alejandro Alfaro and a Luca Cigarini free-kick put Sevilla 3-0 up at half-time and Alvaro Negredo completed the scoring after the break. Paris St Germain and Borussia Dortmund remain in contention to reach the knockout stages after a scoreless draw in Paris in the other Group J match.
