Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp struggled to come to terms with his side's elimination from the DFB-Pokal as he saw his dreams of a league and cup double smashed by third division opponents Offenbach last night.

Dortmund, who are currently second in the Bundesliga, were beaten on a penalty shootout after failing to break down their lower-league opponents over 120 minutes. "We find it hard to accept this defeat since we really wanted to reach the next round," said Klopp.

The Dortmund coach was upset with his side's profligacy in front of goal and hopes to see a better conversion rate in the top of the table Bundesliga clash with Mainz at the weekend.

"I cannot complain about my team much at all in the zone up to 25 yards in front of their goal," he added on his club's website. "We just had to finish things off better.

"On Sunday, we play Mainz in a different competition in which we already have 22 points and have already put the ball in the back of the net one or two times."
