Al Shabab's Uruguayan striker Juan Manuel Olivera scored a brace of penalties to steer his side to a 2-1 win against ten-man Al Ahli in a postponed match from the opening round of this year's Saudi League.
Al Ahli took the lead after only four minutes through their Brazilian striker Victor Simoes but Olivera levelled the scores on 61 minutes with a penalty before scoring the winner on 74 minutes with his second spot kick. Al Ahli finished the game with ten men as their midfielder Taisir Al Jassim was sent off with ten minutes to go.
The win saw Al Shabab move up to tenth in the standing as they claimed their third victory of the season while Al Ahli suffered their sixth defeat to keep them in 12th.
