Ligue 1 high flyers St Etienne halted a run of three matches without a win as they dispatched Bordeaux 1-0 in the fourth round of the Coupe de la Ligue.

Guiranne N'Daw scored the only goal of the game after 11 minutes as Les Verts sealed their quarter-final place.

In Tuesday's other all-Ligue 1 tie, Monaco needed penalties to see off Lorient, It finished 1-1 after extra time as Petter Hansson put the principality side ahead after 98 minutes and Sigamary Diarra levelled with just three minutes remaining. The hosts came through 5-3 on penalties.

Neither Ligue 2 side could cause a shock as Vincent Aboubakar's hat-trick and another goal from Gaetan Bong saw Valenciennes beat Boulogne 4-0, while Montpellier saw off AC Ajaccio 2-0 thanks to goals from Hasan Kabze and Bengali-Fode Koita.
