Major League Soccer champions Real Salt Lake moved top of the Western Conference on goal difference yesterday as they drew 2-2 in their final regular season game at the Colorado Rapids.
Salt Lake's point took them above the Los Angeles Galaxy, who can regain the lead with just a point at home to FC Dallas today in order to enter the play-offs seeded first.
The Utah side, who beat the Galaxy on penalties to win the 2009 MLS Cup, left it late against Colorado as they trailed 2-0 heading into injury time until an Alvaro Saborio double rescued a point.
The San Jose Earthquakes lost 4-1 at the Kansas City Wizards but will take on Eastern Conference winners the New York Red Bulls in the play-offs. Senegalese forward Birahim Diop scored a hat-trick for the Wizards.
The Seattle Sounders, already assured of a play-off place, lost 2-1 at the Houston Dynamo while a double from Dwayne De Rosario helped Toronto FC to a 3-2 win at DC United.
In yesterday's other match, the Chicago Fire won 4-1 against Chivas USA in California.
