The top-of-the-table clash between Estudiantes and Velez Sarsfield finished in a disappointing goalless draw yesterday.

Estudiantes, who finished the match with ten men following the late dismissal of Gabriel Mercado, remain three points clear of their hosts Velez.

Arsenal Sarandi missed a great chance to leapfrog Velez into second as they lost 3-1 at home to Godoy Cruz to stay a point further back in third.

Luciano Leguizamon gave Arsenal a first-half lead from the penalty spot but Godoy Cruz stormed back as Ariel Rojas equalised in the 57th minute and a Cristian Campestrini own goal put them in front a minute later. Substitute Cesar Carranza wrapped up the scoring with a late penalty.
