Genk established a seven-point lead at the summit of the Belgian League after a 4-2 win over ten-man Standard Liege.

The leaders got off to a flying start with a goal from Marwin Ogunjimi in the first minute before Joao Carlos made it two before a quarter of an hour had passed.

Mehdi Carcela-Gonzalez's 28th-minute strike brought Standard back into the game but their hopes quickly receded when goalkeeper Sinan Bolat was dismissed following an angry confrontation with Genk striker Jelle Vossen on 32 minutes.

Vossen added Genk's third on the stroke of half-time before Mohammed Tchite's second for Standard after 55 minutes set up a grandstand finish.

Genk held on, however, with Daniel Tozser ensuring the win with his side's fourth in stoppage time.

In the day's other game, Cercle Brugge defeated Anderlecht 1-0, Oleg Iachtchouk grabbing the only goal after 62 minutes.
