In the stand-out match of the sixth round of Qatar League matches today, current champions Al Gharafa came from behind three times to draw 3-3 with Al Rayyan.
Brazilian striker Afonso Alves put fourth-placed Al Rayyan ahead after two minutes only for his compatriot Juninho Pernambucano to level for seventh-spotted Al Gharafa on the half-hour.
Al Rayyan regained their lead a minute later through Jarallah Al Merri but Al Gharafa once again pulled level, this time from the penalty spot when Iraqi striker Younis Mahmoud converted from 12 yards.
Alves scored his second goal of the match five minutes after the break, but Meshal Abdullah notched Al Gharafa's third midway through the second half to ensure the spoils were shared.
Also today, Al Khraitiat claimed their third straight win by defeating Al Khor 2-1. Nigerian striker Onyekachi Okonkwo put Al Khraitiat ahead two minutes after the break and, although Iraqi defender Salam Shaker restored parity for Al Khor, his compatriot Alaa Abdulzahra bagged a 54th-minute winner for Al Khraitiat.
The weekend's action continues tomorrow when Al Arabi take on Lekhwiya and Umm Salal meet Al Sadd, while on Sunday Al Wakra face Al Siliya and Qatar SC host Al Ahli.
