Fernando Muslera has hit out at Lazio for slow progress in his contract talks. The Uruguay goalkeeper is under contract with the Roman outfit until June 2012 but has yet to agree terms for a new deal.

"My contract extension? My agent (Daniel) Fonseca has been to Rome 14 times since July but it has proved to no avail," said Muslera as reported in Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Lazio have always postponed talks. There is little clarity and I will not sign if I don´t have the okay from my agent. I hope an agreement will be reached soon enough. "

The 24-year-old joined Lazio in 2007 and has established himself in the first team. Muslera starred for Uruguay at the FIFA World Cup™ this summer and helped his national team finish fourth in the tournament.

"My wish is to remain at Lazio as long as possible and I expect a sign from the club," said Muslera. The South American has so far conceded five goals in six league appearances for the Serie A leaders this season.
