Campeonato Brasileiro leaders Fluminense suffered a stunning 3-0 defeat at home to Santos. However, Flu maintained their lead as closest rivals Corinthians also slipped up.

The Rio de Janeiro side went down to traditional powerhouse Santos with Ze Eduardo scoring a second-half hat-trick, finding the net in the 56th, 75th and 87th minutes.

Corinthians, meanwhile, lost 2-1 on the road at Atletico Mineiro. Having taken the lead through Paulinho a minute before the break, Corinthians collapsed in the second half as Werley and Ze Luis turned the game on its head in the final third.

Elsewhere in Brazil, Sao Paulo won 2-0 at home to 10-man Vitoria. Dagoberto put the hosts in front after 17 minutes and Fernandinho added another just before the half-hour mark, before Uelliton's 36th-minute dismissal for Vitoria.

Gremio were comfortable 4-0 winners against Gremio Prudente in Porto Alegre as Jonas Oliveira hit a hat-trick after Andre Lima's early opener. Guarani and Botafogo drew 1-1

Another Porto Alegre side, Internacional, lost 1-0 away to Ceara while Atletico Paranaense and Vasco da Gama drew 0-0.
