Seven-time champions Al Arabi went top of the Qatar League with a 3-0 win over Al Wakra today.
Al Arabi went ahead in the 42nd minute through Waleed Hamza before Argentinian midfielder Leonardo Pisculichi made it two three minutes later.
They added a third goal in the 55th minute thanks to midfielder Salman Isa, while Al Wakra finished the game with ten men as their defender Ali Rahima was sent off after 62 minutes.
Qatar SC slipped to third after they lost 1-0 to Lekhwiya, Cote d'Ivoire striker Bakari Kone scoring from the penalty spot in the 24th minute.
Elsewhere, Al Khraitiat claimed their second consecutive win as they defeated Umm Salal 3-2.
Al Khraitiat opened the scoring through Nigerian striker Tiko Konko after 14 minutes before Burkina Faso striker Yehia Kipe made it two five minutes before the break.
Spanish midfielder Gabri pulled a goal back for Umm Salal three minutes later and they levelled the scores after 64 minutes through Brazilian striker Davi Silva.
But their joy lasted for only two minutes as Konko scored the winner for Al Khraitiat.
