A late John Curtis strike gave Gold Coast United their second win of the season as they edged out Newcastle Jets 1-0 at Skilled Park.

Curtis rifled home from 25 yards in the final minute of a game that saw both sides create chances they were unable to convert.

With the win, Gold Coast climbed to fifth in the A-League, while the Jets lie one off the bottom.
