Defending champions Rubin Kazan scored a 2-0 win over ten-man Saturn Moscow today, closing the gap on Premier Liga leaders Zenit St Petersburg to four points.

Cristian Noboa opened the scoring with a 33rd-minute penalty and, after the visitors had Andrei Karyaka dismissed seven minutes after the break, Aleksei Medvedev sealed the win with a second for Rubin in the 68th minute.

Zenit have two games in hand on their closest challengers.

Dinamo Moscow were 3-0 winners over city rivals Lokomotiv thanks to a brace from Kevin Kuranyi, their summer signing from Schalke, and a 90th-minute effort from Edgaras Cesnauskis a minute after coming on.

Lokomotiv had half-time substitute Dmitri Tarasov sent off in the 87th minute.

Igor Shevchenko scored in Sibir Novosibirsk's 1-0 win over Amkar Perm while Alania Vladikavkaz and Anzhi Makhachkala drew 0-0.
