Atletico Madrid have loaned out their Argentina striker Eduardo Salvio to Benfica for this season, the Spanish club announced on Thursday.

The 20-year-old forward joined Atletico in January on a five-and-a-half year deal from Argentine first division outfit Club Atletico Lanus.

But he failed to become a regular in the first XI featuring Uruguay star Diego Forlan, who picked up the adidas Golden Ball at the FIFA World Cup™ award, and Sergio 'Kun' Aguero.
