Ten-man Academica stunned Benfica in their opening game of the new Portuguese Liga as Ramalho Laionel's last-gasp strike gave them a 2-1 win over the Lisbon giants.
Academica grabbed a 26th-minute lead through Miguel Fidalgo, but the visitors were forced on to the back foot by the 51st-minute dismissal of David Addy.
Benfica quickly took advantage as Franco Jara levelled in the 62nd minute. But Laionel then popped up to nab all three points for Academica.
Nacional were also winners on the road, beating Rio Ave 1-0 through Felipe Lopes' 68th-minute strike. Beira Mar and Uniao Leiria took a point each from their goalless draw.
