Zenit St Petersburg lead the Premier Liga by eight points after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Dinamo Moscow.

Zenit had to settle for a point as Serbian forward Danko Lazovic equalised in the 34th minute after German striker Kevin Kuranyi put Dinamo ahead after 25 minutes. Reigning champions Rubin Kazan could cut their lead to five points with victory away to Terek Grozny tomorrow.

Spartak Nalchik are a point behind Rubin in third with a 4-2 home win over Sibir Novosibirsk.

Igor Shevchenko gave the visitors a 14th-minute lead but Spartak forged ahead with goals from Vladimir Dyadyun and Leandro, the latter from the penalty spot. Sibir levelled at 2-2 through Dzmitry Molosh but a second spot-kick from Leandro and a last-minute goal from substitute Gogita Gogua sealed the win.

Rostov strengthened their grip on fifth place with a 2-0 win at Saturn Moscow as both sides finished with 10 men while Tomsk and Krylya Sovetov drew 1-1.
