Bordeaux have confirmed Nice's France U-21 international Anthony Modeste has signed a four-year contract at the Stade Chaban Delmas.

The 22-year-old announced yesterday that he was on the verge of signing for the Ligue 1 giants and he put pen to paper this afternoon after passing a medical.

Modeste has been at Nice since he was 15, making his league debut on the opening day of the 2007/08 season. He impressed last season, netting 20 times in 37 games on loan at second-division Angers while also scoring eight goals in 12 international appearances.

Reports suggest Bordeaux have paid Nice €3.5 million plus performance-related bonuses. Modeste is Bordeaux's second recruit, following the signing of Vujadin Savic, as the deposed French champions look to reclaim the crown they lost to Marseille last season.
