Christian Benitez struck a second-half double as Santos Laguna beat Pachuca 3-0  to maintain their 100 per cent record and go two points clear at the top of the table.

Carlos Quintero had fired the visitors in front before Benitez struck twice in the second half to give Santos Laguna their third win in three games.

Monterrey sit in second place in the Apertura standings after a 2-1 win at Atlante, who have lost all three games so far.

Johan Fano gave Atlante a third-minute lead, but Nicolas Torres was sent off after 15 minutes and Jose Maria Basanta and Neri Cardozo were both on target as Monterrey came from behind to claim victory.

Guadalajara are unbeaten after two games and claimed their first win of the season at San Luis, with Marco Fabian netting the only goal in a 1-0 win.

Necaxa secured their first win of the campaign as Dario Gandin's first-half strike earned a 1-0 win at Atlas.

Elsewhere, Jaguares and Toluca drew 1-1 and Tigres Monterrey were held to a 1-1 draw by Club America.
