Raul scored his first two goals for Schalke and set up another as the Gelsenkirchen side beat Bayern Munich 3-1 in the final of the pre-season Liga total! Cup.
The Real Madrid legend was the central figure as Schalke came from behind to claim victory on their home ground. Deniz Mujic put Bayern in front inside six minutes but Raul reacted quickest after Brazilian striker Edu hit the post to level the scores in the 25th minute.
The Spaniard turned provider two minutes later as he fed the ball into the box and Edu struck low inside the near post. And he demonstrated that his class remains intact with a fine lob from just outside the penalty area in the 33rd minute as Bayern keeper Rouven Sattelmaier advanced too far off his line.
"My team-mates have helped me settle in very easily," he said on the Schalke website. "I am pleased to be playing in a team with so much quality.
"This atmosphere really surprised me - it was great and the fans are fantastic. It is something special to play here."
In the third-place play-off, Hamburg made light work of Cologne with Ruud van Nistelrooy, Gojko Kacar and Heung-Min Son all on target in a 3-0 win for the northern Germany side.
