Espanyol legend Raul Tamudo is keen to look to the future after being presented by newly-promoted Real Sociedad today.

The veteran forward, who has signed a one-year deal with the Basque club, spent 13 years at Los Periquitos and became the club's all-time top goalscorer.

However, Tamudo fell out of contention under coach Mauricio Pochettino last season, and was also embroiled in a bitter contract wrangle with Espanyol at the beginning of the year. But the 32-year-old has insisted the good and bad times with the Catalan side are in the past.

I am excited and I come here with my batteries charged. I hope to be here for a long time.

"My time at Espanyol was wonderful, but I have to forget the past and live the present," he said. "I will give everything to help Real every Sunday."

Tamudo has signed for one year initially, but the former Spain international hopes a successful spell will lead to a more permanent stay in San Sebastian. "I hope to be here for a long time," he said.

"Let's see how this first year goes and there will be time to talk about everything. I didn't play much last year, but I was training every day - I am excited and I come here with my batteries charged."
