Hamburg have ruled out selling left-back Marcell Jansen amid reports of interest from Liverpool.

The Germany international, who joined Hamburg in 2008 from Bayern Munich and still has a contract with HSV until 2013, is reported to be a target of the Premier League outfit. However, Hamburg have declared he is not for sale.

We have not heard anything either from Liverpool or from Marcell's agent.
Hamburg's director of sport Bastian Reinhardt on the future of Marcell Jansen

"We have not heard anything either from Liverpool or from Marcell's agent," the club's director of sport Bastian Reinhardt told the Hamburger Morgenpost newspaper. "We have absolutely no consideration to sell him."

Jansen missed much of last season due to injury and was a doubt for the FIFA World Cup™, but Germany coach Joachim Low took a gamble on him and he took part in four games in South Africa, scoring in a 3-2 win over Uruguay in the match for third place.
