Marseille president Jean-Claude Dassier believes a clearer picture will emerge within eight days regarding their bid to lure Bordeaux captain Alou Diarra to the Stade Velodrome.
The 29-year-old France midfielder has long been linked with a move away from Les Girondins and there has been contact between the clubs, but OM have so far not agreed to shell out his release fee of €7.75 million.
Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud has vowed not to budge over the release fee and Dassier can fully understand his stance, but hopes there will be developments by next Tuesday.
"In Jean-Louis Triaud's situation, I'd do the same," he told L'Equipe. "There's nothing scandalous. For us, it's true that it is a little tight, but we'll have a clearer picture within eight days."
Triaud last week promised not to stand in the midfielder's way if he wants to move to Marseille - providing the French champions pay the release fee.
