Austrian striker Erwin Hoffer has joined Kaiserslautern on a season-loan deal from Serie A side Napoli.

The 23-year-old's playing time in Italy was limited last season, scoring one goal in 11 appearances for the Partenopei.

"Kaiserslautern is a great opportunity for me to return to the national team," said Hoffer on the club's official website.

Hoffer joined Napoli from Rapid Vienna last summer and is under contract with the Italian outfit until June 2014.
