Genoa have completed the signing of goalkeeper Eduardo from Braga for an undisclosed fee.

The 27-year-old had a starring role for Portugal at the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, where he only conceded once, in their 1-0 defeat by Spain in the Round of 16.

Eduardo, who was heavily linked with a move to Arsenal. is Genoa's third reinforcement this summer.

"Genoa CFC announces it has acquired the sporting rights of Eduardo dos Reis Carvalho on a permanent basis from SC Braga," read a statement on the club's official website.

Eduardo replaces Italian goalkeeper Marco Amelia, who joined AC Milan last month on a one-year loan deal from Genoa.

I Rossoblu acquired former Bayern Munich forward Luca Toni last month, and confirmed earlier today the signing of Hungary international Gergely Rudolf from Debrecen.

The 25-year-old striker scored seven goals in 13 league appearances last season.
