Paris Saint-Germain have made Lyon midfielder Mathieu Bodmer their first signing of the summer. The 27-year-old will join up with his new team-mates on Saturday morning, though PSG have not revealed details of either the fee paid or the length of his contract.
"I remember very good atmospheres at the Parc des Princes," Bodmer told his new club's website. "My dream is to step out on this pitch in the Paris jersey. I await this moment impatiently, and I also look forward to joining training with my new team-mates."
Naturally an attacking midfielder, Bodmer proved his versatility by filling in at centre-back on many occasions during his three seasons with Lyon. He won the Ligue 1 and Coupe de France double in 2008 with Les Gones, as well as the Trophee des Champions in 2007.
