Norwegian Trond Sollied will manage Al Ahli next season following the departure of Sergio Farias, the Saudi club have announced.

Sollied began his coaching career with local club Bodo/Glimt in Norway's first division in 1992 and went on to manage Rosenborg before moving to Belgium to take charge of KAA Gent in 1999.

The Norwegian was then appointed Club Brugge manager and in five years won the Belgian league twice before deciding to move to Olympiacos in 2005, where he claimed the Greek Super League title the same year.

Sollied returned KAA Gent in 2007 before moving to the Netherlands the following season to coach Heerenveen.
