Kone quits Marseille for Qatari club
Marseille's Ivorian striker Bakari Kone has signed a two-year deal to play for Qatari club Lakhwiya, the French first division side announced on its website Monday.
Kone, 28, was signed by Marseille from Nice for 10 million euros in the summer of 2008. However, due to injuries last season the 28-year-old played seldomly.
Marseille, the reigning French league champions, also announced that 35-year-old left back Cyril Rool, also signed from Nice, in 2009, would not be offered a new deal.
