Feyenoord striker Roy Makaay is to retire at the end of the season.
The 35-year-old former Netherlands international informed the Rotterdam team's technical director Leo Beenhakker of his decision, the club confirmed on their official website.
Makaay joined Feyenoord in 2007 after successful spells with Bayern Munich and Deportivo.
The striker, who earned 43 caps for the Oranje, won two Bundesliga titles and the DFB Pokal twice with Bayern as well as La Liga and Copa del Rey honours with Depor.
He also tasted KNVB Beker glory with Feyenoord in 2008.
