Schalke manager Felix Magath believes the challenge for the Bundesliga title is now a two-horse race.
The Royal Blues could leapfrog Bayern Munich and reclaim the Bundesliga summit by beating Borussia Monchengladbach.
"There are only two teams who realistically have a chance of winning the league and that is FC Bayern and us," Magath said. "It will be either red or blue."
And Magath believes his side have a slight advantage, even if they are currently two points behind the Bavarians. "We are in a good situation in that Bayern are in the semi-final (of the Champions League)," he said.
"They are big games who will require a lot of concentration from the team.
"Many teams have dropped points in their domestic league around matches like this. We are the only team who can challenge Bayern and we have two points to make up," said Magath.
Schalke missed the chance to return to the top last weekend when they were unexpectedly beaten 4-2 by struggling Hannover.
Gladbach coach Michael Frontzeck, however, is not worried by the fact his side will be the underdogs against Schalke tomorrow.
"We want to accept this role", he said. "It doesn't make us uncomfortable that Schalke are the favourites and we are the outsiders."
