This season's Major League Soccer title decider, MLS Cup, is to be played in Toronto, Canada, league commissioner Don Garber announced on Tuesday.
The game, MLS' 15th championship match, will take place at Toronto FC's BMO Field on 21 November, the first time the title decider will be played in Canada. BMO Field staged the 2008 MLS All-Star game between a league select XI and West Ham and is set to have a grass pitch installed next month.
Last season's MLS Cup was held at Qwest Field in Seattle, when Real Salt Lake claimed the 2009 title with a penalty shoot-out victory over Los Angeles Galaxy in front of 46,000 fans.
"As we saw last year in Seattle, MLS Cup is more than just our championship match; it is a four-day celebration of the world's game in North America," Garber said. "We believe Toronto will be a superb backdrop for the festivities."
Toronto FC has sold out every home game at the 20,000-capacity BMO Field since the club joined MLS in 2007.
