Uruguayan strike duo Hernan Lopez and Santiago Silva helped Argentinian side Velez Sarsfield come from behind to beat ten-man Colo Colo 2-1 in Group 7 of the Copa Libertadores.

Visiting forward Ezequiel Miralles opened the scoring early on, but Lopez levelled the clash, taking a one-on-one chance against goalkeeper Francisco Prieto. Silva headed the winner after 29 minutes, before Colo Colo had Rodrigo Millar sent off late on.

"We didn't start very well, but we managed to find better balance and get the win. We had to work hard as they are a strong squad. We want to end top," said man of the match Maximiliano Moralez.

After four games, Velez are top with 10 points, three above Brazilian side Cruzeiro and six above Colo Colo.

In Group 1 game, Uruguayan side Racing defeated Medellin 1-0 to go top. Midfielder Santiago Ostolaza sealed the encounter in the 75th minute with a header that put Racing alongside Corinthians on seven points.

"We won as hosts and that is crucial to go on in the cup. They played well, but in the end we got the three points," said Ostolaza.

Finally, in a clash between two Ecuadorian sides Deportivo Quito saw off Emelec 1-0 in Group 5 thanks to Michael Arroyo's goal.
