Sydney FC have wasted no time bolstering their Grand Final-winning squad, signing goalkeeper Liam Reddy on a three-year contract.
The 28-year-old was an integral part of Wellington Phoenix's run to the Preliminary Final last season, where they were beaten 4-2 by Sydney at Sydney Football Stadium.
Reddy, who has over 100 A-League appearances under his belt following stints with Newcastle Jets, Brisbane Roar and Wellington, vowed to make an immediate impact. He said: "I am really happy to back in my hometown and I am here to do whatever it takes to continue the success the club had this year."
"I had a strong season with Wellington and it was some of the best football I have played. I am going to work as hard as I can to continue my own form but be part of a winning team. The prospect of working under Vitezslav (Lavicka), Tony (Popovic), Michal (Zach) and especially (goalkeeping coach) John Filan is an amazing opportunity and is something that doesn't come along very often.
"There are a lot of excellent players here as well, and playing alongside them will be special. Even though the club achieved so much this season it is still hungry for more. I want to be a part that culture and I feel I can add to it. Sydney FC is an excellent club. They are current champions and have the Asian Champions League on the horizon so it is an exciting time."
