FC Seoul went top of the fledgling K-League following a 3-0 win at Gangwon. Former Incheon United striker Bang Sung-Hwan was the hero for the capital team, scoring twice on a pitch covered in snow.
Brazilian defender Adilson opened the scoring just after the restart, heading powerfully into the bottom corner. Gangwon goalkeeper Yoo Hyun then failed to deal with a cross midway through the half, palming the ball to Bang, who fired through a number of bodies into the goal.
And ten minutes from time, the 27-year-old arrived late at the near post to head home an Esteves corner. However, the two-goal hero still had time to be sent off for a late tackle on Yoon Jun-Ha.
"We got a quick goal in the second half and that sent us on our way," said Seoul coach Nelo Vingada. "To win 3-0 away in such conditions is a very good result for us."
The win follows the 5-2 victory at Daejeon Citizen on the opening weekend and puts Seoul above Incheon United on goal difference.
Incheon, Gyeongnam claim victories
Incheon made it two wins out of two by defeating Gwangju Sangmu 2-0 with two late goals. Kang Su-Il broke the deadlock nine minutes from the end, and Serbian star Ognjen Koroman sealed the three points in injury time.
Chunnam Dragons picked up their first point of the season with a 3-3 draw at home to Ulsan Horang-I, while Gyeongnam won 3-0 at Daejeon Citizen.
