Anderlecht extended their lead at the top of the Belgian Jupiler League to nine points with a 2-1 win at bottom-club Roeselare.

Closest rivals Club Brugge could only draw 1-1 at St Truidense to allow Anderlecht, who played the last 15 minutes with 10 men, to take a firm grip on the title race.

Anderlecht were forced to come from behind to grab the three points after Australia international Nikita Rukavytsya opened the scoring for Roeselare in the 26th minute. Ondrej Mazuch equalised 11 minutes later and Matias Suarez hit a 62nd-minute winner for the visitors, who held on for the win despite Muzuch being sent off in the 75th minute.

Club Brugge were indebted to a 59th-minute Wesley Sonck penalty to grab a share of the spoils against St Truidense, who went ahead through Ibrahima Sidibe (48). In Sunday's only other game, Charleroi and Zulte-Waregem played out a goalless draw.
