Porto's fading Liga Sagres title hopes were dealt a potentially fatal blow this evening as Sporting Lisbon ran out comfortable 3-0 winners at Estadio Jose Alvalade.

Three days on from sweeping aside Everton in the UEFA Europa League, Sporting delivered another dominant display to leave Porto nine points off the pace of leaders Benfica with nine games remaining.

Yanick Djalo opened the scoring for the hosts after six minutes while goals from Marat Izmailov and Miguel Veloso either side of the interval completed the win. The result moves Sporting up to fourth place, 11 points behind Porto.

Pacos Ferreira boosted their hopes of playing in Europe next season with a 5-3 win over struggling Vitoria Setubal. Third-bottom Vitoria got off to a great start when Ladji Keita fired them into the lead after two minutes but goals from Luis Pizzi (27), Artur William (33, pen) and Araujo Maykon (45) swung the game in Pacos' favour.

Helder Barbosa pulled one back after 52 minutes but further goals from Danielson (56) and William (89) settled the match as a contest either side of Paulo Regula's third for Vitoria. In the night's other game, Wires scored the only goal as Rio Ave ran out 1-0 winners over Academica.
