Marseille enjoyed an emphatic 3-0 victory over arch-rivals Paris St. Germain to move within three points of leaders Bordeaux and Montpellier. Hatem Ben Arfa opened the scoring at the Parc des Princes after 15 minutes and Lucho Gonzalez made it 2-0 less than 20 minutes into the second half.
Benoit Cheyrou capped a wonderful evening for Marseille with the third with 19 minutes to go.
Lille fall
Roy Contout's brace enabled Auxerre to beat Lille 2-1 in a match delayed by two hours and almost rendered unplayable by storms. Heavy winds and rain have battered France and a postponement seemed likely, but referee Bruno Coue eventually opted to let the match go ahead with the delayed kick-off time.
Eden Hazard equalised Contout's opener, but the visitors won it with 18 minutes remaining.
The weather did prevail in the third match scheduled for today, Bordeaux seeing their trip to Le Mans called off. Les Girondins are level on 51 points with Montpellier, but have two games in hand on most of their title rivals.
