Lyon's Michel Bastos and Marseille's Mamadou Niang both hit hat-tricks on Sunday to keep their sides in the Ligue 1 title race.
Brazilian forward Bastos completed his treble inside 26 minutes as Lyon won 4-0 at Sochaux. Lisandro Lopez added a fourth nine minutes from time to lift Lyon, who beat Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, to within five points of leaders Bordeaux.
Marseille were 3-1 winners at home to Nancy, for whom Andre Luiz was on target to make it 1-1. The win left Marseille a point behind fourth-placed Lyon in fifth. Lille stayed a point ahead of Lyon - and moved to within one of second-spotted Montpellier - as they left it late to snatch a 2-1 win at Rennes.
Jerome Leroy cancelled out Pierre-Alain Frau's opener for Lille, but substitute Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang netted the winner in the 89th minute. Marseille and Bordeaux have a game in hand on Lyon, Lille and Montpellier.
