Atletico Madrid eased into the final of the Copa del Rey with a 6-3 aggregate victory, despite losing the second leg of their semi-final against Racing Santander on Thursday.

Carrying a comfortable 4-0 lead from the first leg, Atletico's progression was never truly in question, although Racing hopes were briefly raised when Atletico defender Juan Valera put the ball into his own net in the second minute. However, Jose Moraton returned the favour six minutes later to level the scores, and Jose Jurado's 55th-minute strike put Atletico 2-1 up.

But Xisco and Mohamed Tchite struck in the final two minutes to give Racing a 3-2 victory on the night, despite having Fernandez Christian sent off. Atletico will face Sevilla in the final after their 2-1 aggregate win over Getafe in the other semi-final.
