A brace by Pablo Velazquez helped Libertad progress to the Copa Libertadores group stage with a stirring comeback to defeat Venezuela's Deportivo Tachira.

Already 1-0 down from last week's first leg, Javier Torrente's side went further behind in the 29th minute as Pedro Boada turned in Nicolas Diez's header from Gerzon Chacon's corner. Miguel Angel Samudio set up Rodolfo Gamarra to equalise on the night with a bicycle kick five minutes before half-time.

And Velazquez levelled the tie at 2-2 in the 67th minute after Gamarra and Javier Gonzalez were denied, before sealing his side's progress nine minutes from time with a long-range effort to round off a 3-1 second-leg win. Gamarra missed a late penalty but Libertad, who have never won the championship, made it into Group 4 and will play Argentinian side Lanus, Peruvian giants Universitario and Bolivia's Blooming.
