Nine-time UAE league champions Al Ain continued their good form in the Etisalat Cup with a 1-0 win over Bani Yas.

The win keeps Al Ain top of Group B with nine points, six points ahead of Ajman and Bani Yas. Midfielder Hazza Salem scored the only goal of the game after five minutes.

Al Wahda moved top of Group A thanks to a hard-fought 4-3 win against Al Dhafra. Hamad Abdulrahman gave Al Dhafra the lead after ten minutes but Saeid Al Katheeri equalised just a minute later.

Al Wahda took the lead on 20 minutes through Andre Luciano Pinga and made it 3-1 soon after through fellow Brazilian Fernando Baiano's penalty. Abdullah Qassem pulled a goal back for Al Dhafra but Baiano scored his second goal of the night in the 86th minute before Abdoulaye Cisse scored the third goal for Al Dhafra in the dying seconds.
