Dubai club Al Shabab have appointed Brazilian Paulo Bonamigo as manager until the end of the season.
The 49-year-old will replace recently sacked Iraqi Abdulwahab Abdulqader, who was shown the door following Al Shabab's 1-1 draw with Al Sharjah. Bonamigo has previous experience in Brazil, where he managed Coritiba, Botafogo and Palmeiras, while he also had a stint in Portugal with Maritimo in 2005.
The Brazilian will first take charge of the team at a training camp that will be held in Qatar and will have 10 days with his new charges before his first league match against Al Nasr. "I'm really comfortable after I saw the team and the good quality of the players," Bonamigo told the club's official website.
"Having a preparatory camp in Qatar will help me and the players to blend together. I know how good UAE football is and there are a lot of Brazilian players and coaches in the region. I have a good knowledge about the quality of Al Shabab's Brazilians Christiano Pedrao and Carlos Renato."
