Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini will be out of action until the new year with a thigh injury.

Chiellini will miss at least three matches for the Turin giants, including tomorrow's UEFA Champions League showdown against Bayern Munich, before he is able to return.

The 25-year-old was injured during Saturday's 2-1 triumph over Inter Milan and tests have confirmed a strain in his right thigh.

Chiellini, who has been a pivotal player for Juve coach Ciro Ferrara this season, will be sidelined for 20 days.
