Metalist Kharkiv have closed the gap at the top of the Superliga to four points by winning 2-1 at Arsenal Kiev.

League leaders Dynamo Kiev were held 0-0 at Metallurg Zaporizhzhya, and their city neighbours did them no favours by surrendering a 1-0 lead to lose at home to Kharkiv. Andriy Khomyn put Arsenal ahead in the 47th minute, but Denis Oliynyk levelled five minutes later before Milan Obradovic's 65th minute penalty settled matters.

Metallurg Donetsk missed the chance to go fourth as they lost 2-1 at Obolon Kiev. Henrikh Mkhitaryan had put Metallurg ahead, but Valeriy Kutsenko levelled the match on the stroke of half-time before Andrey Varanko hit the winner 20 minutes from time.

Choronomorets have pulled clear of the bottom of the table after Vitaly Balashov snatched an 89th minute goal to win the game 1-0.
