Seven-time league champions Al Arabi suffered their first defeat this season as they lost 2-1 on Friday at the hands of Al Ahli in round seven.

Al Ahli, who climbed to ninth place with their second win, opened the scoring after 13 minutes through Brazilian Wagner Renato before Ivory Coast striker Thiah Olivier made it 2-0 after 28 minutes.

Al Arabi pulled a goal back through their Brazilian striker Cabore, but it was not enough as Al Ahli held on.

AFC Champions League semi-finalists Umm Salal edged Al Khor 1-0 thanks to a 71st-minute goal from Fabio Cesar that lifted them to eighth place.

The round will be concluded today as defending champions Al Gharafa meet Al Khuraitiat while Al Sadd take on Al Rayyan in the top match of the round.
