Shakhtar Donetsk closed to within three points of leaders Dynamo Kiev with a 1-0 win at Chornomorets Odessa. Jadson's second-minute goal proved sufficient as the visitors prepared well for Thursday's Europa League trip to Toulouse.

Marko Devic's last-minute penalty settled the third-versus-fourth match in favour of Metalist Kharkiv, as Metallurg Donetsk were beaten 1-0.

At the other end of the table, there was a significant win for Kryvbas, who moved off the bottom after beating Obolon Kiev 3-2.

Roman Karakevich scored either side of Mladen Bartulovic's penalty as Obolon twice equalised through Andrey Varankov and Artem Mirochnychenko.

That left Zakarpattya at the foot of the table after their 3-0 defeat to Metallurg Zaphorizhzhya, which came about thanks to goals from Vitaliy Vernidub, Alozie and Volodymyr Arzhanov.

Elsewhere, Andriy Khomyn and Sergey Zakarliuka gave Arsenal Kiev a 2-1 win at Illichivets Mariupol and Maksym Feshchuk's two late goals enabled Tavriya Symferopol to come from behind to beat Dnipro by the same scoreline.
