Al Jazira regained second place with a 2-1 win against Emirates.

The win puts them level on points with pacesetters Al Ain, while Emirates remains down in eighth place.

Al Jazira opened the scoring after 21 minutes when Brazilian striker Ricardo Oliveira sent a neat pass to Sultan Barghash, who beat four Emirates defenders before finishing.

Emirates levelled the scores on the hour mark when Moroccan striker Hassan Tair crossed for Iranian striker Meziar Asghar to equalise.

However, their joy lasted only a minute before Oliveira headed home Anthony Nantcho's cross to win it.

In tonight's other match, defending champions Al-Ahli Dubai continued their disappointing run in a 1-1 draw with Al Sharjah.

Ahmed Khalil thought he had scored the winner for Al Ahli on 75 minutes, but Iraqi striker Mustapha Kareem levelled the scores for Al Sharjah in the last minute.
