Bayern Munich's Miroslav Klose scored two early goals to help the German giants on their way to a 4-0 demolition of Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday 28 October and book their place in the German Cup quarter-finals.

"This is the sort of strong performance from Bayern Munich which I had imagined," said Bayern team manager Uli Hoeness. "This is the Bayern Munich who show how strong they are."

Frankfurt coach Michael Skibbe admitted his side were outclassed from first to last whistle: "We didn't cope with fairly standard situations at all well. Mistakes were made for each of the four goals and the difference in quality was obvious from the first to the last minute."

After both Stuttgart and Dortmund suffered third-round exits on Tuesday, there were no such problems for fellow Bundesliga sides Bayern, Werder Bremen, Hoffenheim or Schalke who all enjoyed easy wins.

After Bayern had laboured to a 2-1 win over Frankfurt in the Bundesliga last Saturday, they totally dominated the cup return. Meanwhile, German international striker Klose showed his world-class finishing with expertly taken goals on 14 and 19 minutes - his first of the season in all competitions.

Munich's rising star Thomas Mueller then benefited from a Klose assist to put Bayern 3-0 up before Italy forward Luca Toni - linked with a move away in Janauary - also scored his first goal of the season for the German giants with a header on 52 minutes.

Hoffenheim will also be in the draw for the last eight after they strolled to a 4-0 win at home to second-division Koblenz after midfielder Sejad Salihovic started the scoring with a free-kick on 50 minutes.

Striker Vedad Ibisevic scored after a darting run on 67 minutes, Brazilian forward Maicosuel put the match beyond doubt four minutes later and Germany defender Marvin Compper rose to head home the fourth on the final whistle.

Schalke booked their place in the next round after defender Benedikt Hoewedes scored twice in a 3-0 win over second-division 1860 Munich, while Bremen barely got out of second gear in their 3-0 win over Kaiserslautern.
