Juanma: Get real
Alcorcon may be boasting a huge advantage after the first leg of their Copa del Rey tie with mighty Real Madrid, but the Segunda Division B side's goalkeeper Juanma insists they are not thinking the tie is already over.
Alcorcon, a small club from the outskirts of Madrid, created a huge upset last night when they thrashed their big-spending neighbours 4-0 in the home leg of their Round of 32 clash.
That has left Madrid on the brink of tumbling out of the fourth round of the cup for the second successive season against a third-tier club, having been dumped out by Real Union last season, but Juanma is not getting ahead of himself despite his side's brilliant performance last night which saw them leading 3-0 at half-time
"In the first half we were spectacular, not even we could believe what we did. Now are in the clouds," he said. "(But) this is football and they (Madrid) continue being the favourites. In the Bernabeu we are not going to assume the tie is won."
Striker Borja, who netted two of his side's goals, added: "I'm giving the team 10 out of 10. Against an opponent like Madrid you always have a tremendous amount of motivation. For them it's difficult to come to play a game like that and we knew how to take advantage of that. We never dreamed this could happen."
